Although many of our customers choose our garage cabinets because they are well built, the aesthetic value of our products is always something that many customers seek out. It is not uncommon for customers to think of their garage as their favorite area of their house, especially if theyre car enthusiasts or like tinkering and building things. We thought it would be fun to profile what we thought were the five most memorable garages from film and television.
1) Batmans Batcave
The Batcave (we checked, its one word) is the secret cave that is part of Wayne Manor where Batman houses the Batmobile. Although it has been represented differently throughout the decades, the Batcave is always shown to house computers, tools, and often times the Batsuit that Bruce Wayne wears when fighting crime. Quite famously, the Batcave has secret entrances and exits that make it that much more mysterious and intriguing.
2) Camerons Dads Garage From Ferris Buellers Day Off
Few cars from film history are as iconic as the 1961 Ferrari GT California that Ferris Bueller drives around in Chicago with his friends while ditching school. And likewise, few scenes in the film are as memorable as when the famous car crashes through the glass wall of the garage and falls through the trees surrounding Camerons modernist house. A gut wrenching scene for any fan of classic cars.
3) Tim Allens Garage From Home Improvement
Tim Allen is famous for being a car guys car guy, having a notable automobile collection and being an active participant in the automotive community. His 90s television series Home Improvement had him play a TV show host, whose program called Tool Time was about home improvement and featured Allen in a garage that had every single tool a handy man could ever want. However, fans of the show will remember that Tim The Tool Man Taylor often would cause accidents on set, threatening the garage that was the envy of many viewers.
4) The Garage From Taxi
Though perhaps some of our younger readers wont remember the show, Taxi was a smash hit in the late 70s and early 80s and was what launched the career of Danny DeVito, Andy Kaufman, and a number of other famous actors. The show mostly takes place in the Sunshine Cab Companys fleet garage in New York City. Car buffs, as well as New York history aficionados, will remember the iconic yellow Checker Taxis of the show that used to be the dominant taxi car in New York City and many other cities across the country.
5) The Garage From All The Presidents Men
All The Presidents Men tells the story of how two Washington Post reporters, Woodward and Bernstein, exposed the Watergate scandal that ultimately led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon. Deep Throat, the whistleblower who tipped off the journalists, would meet Woodward and Bernstein in a parking garage and would always be shown as a secretive figure whose face would be hidden by shadows and dark lighting. The dark parking garage was the perfect film setting for the unraveling of the most powerful man in the world.
